Bible’s Answer To Bigotry

Galatians 3:28 ESV
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Acts 10 and 11
Peter and Cornelius
Acts 10:15 ESV
And the voice came to him again a second time, “What God has made clean, do not call common.”
One would think Peter got the message
Galatians 2:11–14 ESV
But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. For before certain men came from James, he was eating with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing the circumcision party. And the rest of the Jews acted hypocritically along with him, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy. But when I saw that their conduct was not in step with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all, “If you, though a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you force the Gentiles to live like Jews?”

Why Do Critics Call Christians Bigots?

Just stated the sin of a judgmental mindset
John 7:24 ESV
Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.”
Predominately Triggered by society’s attitude of sexual preferences
Most folk who ask this have made their mind up and want to label you as a bigot.
Isaiah 5:20–21 ESV
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight!
Romans 8:7 ESV
For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot.
Jeremiah 17:9 ESV
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
Respect is celebrating differences and feeling excited about the opportunity to hear another person’s point of view.
How does one celebrate something that is condemned by God?
Simply Deny the Truth of the Word
Truth is a part of God’s character that He has expressed, and we are to mold our ideas and thoughts processes to God’s truth
Cultural tolerance says “I am the source of truth myself” - Therefore you have no right to criticize me
I can read my truth into the Bible rather than conform my life to what the Bible really teaches
Romans 12:1–2 ESV
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Christian Attributes Against Bigotry

2 Timothy 4:3 ESV
For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,
Christians DO NOT change with the wind of opinion
None of this “Go along to Get along” - Try using that when facing God on the last day
Love your fellow man
1 John 2:10–11 ESV
Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling. But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
Galatians 6:1 ESV
Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.
Ephesians 4:15 ESV
Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,
